The Hammar HRU-H20E Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) is the global standard for automatic EPIRB deployment. This essential safety device ensures your float-free beacon releases automatically if your vessel sinks. The Hammar H20E is activated by increasing water pressure at a depth of 1.5 to 4.0 meters. A spring-activated knife then cleanly cuts the securing bolt, allowing the EPIRB to float to the surface. It immediately begins transmitting a distress signal to search and rescue satellites.
